Gearbox rubber for the gearbox nose of the VW T2 Bus 08/1971–07/1979, with OEM numbers 211 599 253 and 211 599 227. The rubber dampens vibrations between the gearbox and the chassis crossmember. Replacement is necessary when the rubber has hardened or cracked, causing the gearbox to knock or sag.
