The shift rod in the gearbox endures a lot of vibration - and eventually the seal ring will wear out. With this repair kit - you replace both the seal ring and the bushing at once - which works much cleaner than just replacing the ring. Suitable for all classic VWs from T1 to T2 - T3. Combine this with new oil in the gearbox - and you're all set.
