You'll need this 0.30 mm oversize tappet when the original tappet shows too much wear and you want to regrind the camshaft. In that case - you must use a larger tappet to maintain the correct clearances. The part fits all air-cooled engines in the T1 - T2 - Type 3 and Karmann Ghia. Combine this with a new camshaft or have yours professionally reground.
